As Adams we spin violently in a mental chaos we never asked for. This is his words to her. |
Dear Eve? Have we crumbled? Fallen like the Earth into the Ocean? We men who once stood so tall dying for you women who bleed us dry and hang us from your webs for the world to see? Your issues that I so willingly tried to help you fix even though it wasn't my responsibility have become my slave master. You climax beneath the table I hide under as you make small talk with someone who loves me more than you ever will. You ask to see my scars. I show them to you. You reopen the wound to drink from my veins so you may survive and I sit here turning blue because I'm consumed by you. You tell me to sit down when I feel something other than that which you tell me I can. You silence me when I speak because another silenced you. You bruise me when I try to stitch up where they cut you and tell me to be a man while I know you're draining others. There's nothing I can do. You've won. Your clan. Smarter than us. Stronger than us. Stale like the loaf of bread that remains in a pantry that's been wiped clean. I suffice. I settle. I struggle against the weave as you sink your teeth in me. The roles have reversed congratulations but hear me when I say this... If you keep squeezing my nuts eventually they'll rupture and the future will seep through your fingers with my blood. I, a man, who was tired and went to your soft hands for comfort. I, a man, who was not responsible for the system was hungry and knew not how to take the winnings and turn them into nourishment went to you for fulfillment. I, a man, who was beaten by the world came home and went to you to mend my mangle. You, a woman, whom I trusted and loved wanted power in return. I gave it to you. You broke my neck. Then moved on to the next prey. Collecting souls till the day you could make us all pay. On that day I'll be a ghost. The one who, when the people come demanding at your door with flames and pitchforks, will shove you off the cliff into the jagged stones so that you and I may both find judgment in a God much bigger than man and woman. You gave me the apple that ruined my life. I'll give you the blade to take your own. Till Damnation do we part... -Adam |
