A poem for my friend's 95th birthday. |
I know a nice lady named Joan sometimes she calls on the phone but most times she'll email or drop me a snail mail to cheer me as I sit at home. A special day is coming for Joan a birthday some call a milestone she'll be ninety-five the twenty-ninth of July so this quarantine I do bemoan. I'd like to be taking Joan out to eat at our favorite hangout but covid is lurking so this year we're shirking the urge to be out and about. The best I can do is intone the happiest birthday she's known with a poem I've penned and paint flowers I'll send with love and hugs to my good pal, Joan! |
