The revised premise of Manicotti and Murder
Now that you have spent a month planning your novel, revise your initial premise. Identify the following:
(1) Setting(s). Where does your story take place?
(2) Protagonist(s). Who is(are) your main character(s)?
(2b) Flaw(s). What is(are) the protagonist's major flaw(s)?
(2c) Goal(s). What does(d) the protagonist(s) want (or want to avoid)?
(3) Conflict(s). What's keeping them from their goal(s)?
(4) Antagonist(s). Who or what is creating the conflict(s)?
(5) Resolution. How does it all turn out in the end?
(6) Theme: What is the theme or moral of the story?
(7) Outline: Update your outline as needed.

My story takes place in the Midwest, probably not the upper Midwest, as there are not months and months of winter with which to deal. The amusement park may be closed, or have a slow season for about 3 months at the most.
Antonio Marzetti is my protagonist. Ralf Audrey, Betty Farner, and Rita Smith all play an important role. Gary Randolf is the antagonist.
Antonio is too hard on himself, blaming himself for his grandmother losing his grandfather’s restaurants and their family home. Antonio was studying abroad and has always felt like he should have been home – and none of any of that would have happened.
He has poured himself into his work, his own restaurant, and has now expanded into a deep-fried manicotti stand at the local amusement park. He finds evidence of embezzlement from the elderly owner, Betty, and will do anything to help her avoid the fate that befell his grandmother.
Antonio needs to find a way to prove what Gary is up to, and soon finds Gary’s acts are much more criminal, and he much more dangerous, than anyone originally thought. By the time he uncovers the embezzlement, he is in too deep to simply back away.
In the end, Gary does pay for his crimes, including the murder of Ralf, and his attempt to run Rita over with his car. There is likely at least one more murder, which will be found out after Gary is arrested. He will also be prosecuted for the embezzlement from the amusement park. He was attempting to burn down Handi Mani, with Antonio locked inside, when he is apprehended.
The moral of the story will be simple: crime doesn’t pay/ good triumphs over evil
