A Prayer for Today and Every Day

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are God of the universe and everything in it. It is comforting to know you have everything under control even when the world seems to be in chaos. You deserve all glory, honor, and praise.

Forgive any sins I have committed, and help me to forgive others when they wrong me. Help me to give mercy as I have been shown mercy. Reveal my sins to me so I may correct what needs correcting. Teach me to only fear you and to do your will faithfully. Help me to see things from your perspective with eyes like you. Deliver me from the evil one and anything he has planned for me today and help me avoid yielding to temptations.

Thank you for allowing me to wake up and live another day. Help me to not waste this precious gift I have been given.

Thank you for all the blessings I have received and will receive. Thank you for providing my daily needs. Please provide for today as you do every day.

Help me to not be anxious about tomorrow. Remind me to lift my eyes to the hills where my help comes from and to give all my worries to you. Thank you for the security I find in you. You are always ready to help in time of trouble.

Thank you for desiring to be with me and for loving me in spite of my imperfections. Thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross to save me.
Thank you for loving me when no one else thought I was lovable. Thank you for thinking good thoughts towards me and making good plans for me.

How can I thank you enough for all of the things you do for me? You bless, heal, guide, protect, love, and so very much more. You answer all of my prayers and hear me when I call on you. I am delighted living for you and know you are delighted to live with me.

Please help me do nothing but good today and may everything I do, think, and say be pleasing to you. Help me to have the right attitude and perspective about every situation, and help me to keep control over my emotions. Help me be quick to forgive, slow to anger, and slow to speak but quick to listen. Help me to let go of negative emotions quickly.

Protect me from injury and illness and give me the strength to do what needs to be done today. Help my physical body. Quicken it so that I may serve you. Continue to give me a hope for tomorrow. Heal in me what needs healing. Help me to make healthy choices throughout the day and to take care of this body (temple) that you gave me. Provide rest as it is needed.

Let me learn new things and feel your love for me as I pray and study your word. Give me the boldness that I can share these things with others. Help me to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is within me with meekness and fear. Let me be a reflection of your love and attitude.

Help me to put on the whole armor of God. Let me put on truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Holy Spirit, The word of God, prayer, praise, love, and joy. Let me wear these things like a garment. Let the world see more of you and less of me. Cause my soul to prosper in you.

Help me to focus on you. I want to think about what is positive, true, honest, just, pure, pleasant, of good report, honorable, praise worthy, and full of virtue. I want to be a blessing and encourage others. I want to help them and build them up. I want to be a good example and role model.

Bless the work of my hands and keep the door of my mouth. Help me to persevere in the things I do as I am obeying you. Help me to be dependable and honest.

I love you with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength.
