A Conversation

We speak, poet and reader
of a love story between phrases.
Where in between the words
and sounds we breathe
moments, or memories, perhaps.
That pause is not silence
but a gasp, a heartbeat,
an exchange of emotion.
Where syntax meets
connotation in a torrid flurry
of momentum where
a conversation is had;
interaction occurs
and we have had
a conversation.
