This is about a dream I had a few weeks ago.
When a person gets angry, you may see them scowl, yell and scream, growl, throw things, and become violent. Imagine for a moment, if we are made in the image of Almighty God, and we do this when we are angry, what God’s wrath must be like. I would assume our wrath is only a small comparison to the anger of God.

Romans 1:18-20

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

One night a few weeks ago, I had a dream about God's wrath. It was very eye-opening. It is a dream I want to remember because it had a very important message.

I was in the bedroom of my childhood home. I had been doing some chores around the house like laundry and dishes. I decided to take a break from chores and watch a little T.V. in my room.

As I was relaxing and watching T.V., all of a sudden, I heard God scream out in anger. “Aughhh!“ It was loud and it made the earth shake.

I ran into the dining room where my mom was at and I told her, “I think God is angry!”

She immediately dropped to her knees and began praying. I continued to run outside.

Once I got to the backyard, the ground was still shaking and the sky was turning dark. Neighbors and other people were running around looking for a place to hide and didn't know what to do. There was confusion everywhere.

Once I realized what was happening, with fear in my heart, I turned toward the voice of God and bowed before him. I submitted myself to him. I was on my knees before God with my head bowed down.

It was at that moment, I had a realization. I could envision Jesus going to God saying, “No! Wait! I will take her place! Take your wrath out on me instead.” (This is exactly what Jesus did when he died on the cross - My sins deserve death.)

I also understood for the first time in my life why Moses offered to let God blot his name out of the book of life instead of the people he led out of Egypt. If we are going to have a heart and mind like Jesus, we have to be willing to sacrifice ourselves to save others. Think about that for awhile.

When I woke up, I had some repenting to do. Wow! I was quite shaken by that dream, but so blessed by it too.

I imagine that is exactly what was happening the day Jesus died. The Bible says there was a huge earthquake and the sky was darkened too. Jesus took on the wrath of God to save us from eternal death.

According to Mayoclinic.org, anger is a natural response to a perceived threat. Our sin is a perceived threat to God's righteousness. It is offensive to him. Why is God angry with you today? Submit to him in repentance. Jesus already suffered the wrath of God for you.
