Dwarf Planet

Poor planet Pluto,
deprived of the fame
it held so briefly
out there in the dark,
frozen from community
without recourse,
beyond memory of better days
in textbooks describing
its remote and lonely passage.
Just one last photo
from a passing migrant to the void
to gaze upon the face
of its silent self,
condemned now
for having left its room
untidy.

Notes: The International Astronomical Union (IAU) downgraded the status of Pluto to that of a dwarf planet because it did not meet the three criteria the IAU uses to define a full-sized planet. Essentially Pluto meets all the criteria except one—it “has not cleared its neighboring region of other objects.” log.gov
I would also like to point out the white heart clearly visible on the planet's right hemisphere.
