Why Americans Should Reject Socialism

Why Americans Should Reject Socialism



Everyone's perception of what America would be like as a socialist country is different because we all have different views. We are diverse and our diversity is our strength. We were created in God's image. Out of all creatures, we were given the power of choice and free will. Socialism destroys free will. It takes free will away from us replacing it with state control. How is this natural? There is no incentive. We work because there is some kind of reward at the end. That’s basic human nature.

American veterans fought for our freedom. By transferring rights and responsibilities from individuals and families to the state, it destroys liberty and our freedom to decide on all matters within our competence. Socialism doesn't work because it isn't consistent with the fundamental principles of human behavior.

Planned economies have produced huge amounts of poverty and scarcity. You’ve noticed that places that instituted market reforms, like South Korea and Deng Xiaoping’s China, tended to get richer and prouder. Places that moved toward socialism — Britain in the 1970s, Venezuela more recently — tended to get poorer and more miserable.

Socialism is particularly dangerous because it's so perfectly suited for the modern era. It's the ultimate "miracle" product: it's "nice," it's "fair," it'll make you feel good about yourself, it'll "help" people who "deserve it" by taking things away from people who "have so much" they'll barely miss it. It sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

If one finds themselves contemplating socialism, you should ask yourself this:

Is there anyone in our government you trust enough to place in this position?

Competition is part of our creation. The 1776 experiment would be no more and our constitution cannot unwritten.
