A short poem honoring the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. |
| The Unknown There is an eternal memory in the tomb of the strongest stone. Stone hewn out of the very ground from which a life was born. A life that stands for freedom and Liberty. A gentle wind breathes softly over the tomb. Within, valor and honor cry proudly. The breeze speaks to all who will listen. A lone guard stands in silence before the stone. The immovable protector defends against the foolish and unwise. A guard who is a symbol of a country. The guard walks slowly, quietly, with reverence. Over and over, he retraces his steps. As quiet as the breath of wind that caresses the stone. |
