Reasons To Be Cheerful, Part Twenty-Two
Yes, it’s true I’m here for the beer
(be of good cheer - more will appear),
but also, you know, for Schnujo
(found a rhyme in Victor Hugo),
then to celebrate WDC
or just excuse for a party,
shout “Hurray!” or “Geronimo!”
anything to enter the flow.
It’s to stand up and be counted,
to make sure the rules aren’t flounted,
to find a rhyme for things like time
or silently resort to mime,
to gallantly try for a laugh
while evading all kinds of gaffe,
for it’s like the mountain, and there,
or just because it’s something rare.
For fun and sun, to run and stun,
to tickle and giggle and wriggle,
to smile, not rile, another mile,
and so to pile style upon style,
and that is twenty-two reasons
all to celebrate the season.
