The View

The view from my window
Isn't so hard to see -
What I wonder is this:
Who is looking back at me?

Do they see my struggles?
Do they see my pain?
Do they understand what
I've lost, and yet to regain?

It's so easy to just walk by;
Wrapped up in our own minds.
What's not so easy is to think
About others, and also being kind.

So looking out my window,
I may be sheltered from a storm -
But inside my mind
Things are far from the norm.
