not wanting to be the perfect version of yourself but rather just yourself

the perfect me

the perfect me
isn't who I want to be
the perfect me is someone with a perfect body
someone with perfect grades who is good in everything they do
I'm not that person and that's okay

the perfect me
is someone I wanted to be
because maybe then people would notice me
but who am I if not just me
is the perfect me really who I want to be
because the word "perfect" just seems forced on me

the perfect me doesn't exist
because maybe perfect isn't made for me
and just me is who I'm meant to be
