Every day, the girl walked past their pasture.
Marion loved horses. When her family moved to a rural town, her misery made her forget this fact.

Then she met the horses.

Marion was on a walk. Her route took her past a pasture with two magnificent horses. One was a dark chestnut, the other black. They were beautiful.

The horses trotted up to the fence. Marion patted them on their noses. She smiled and continued on her walk.

For years, this ritual continued. One day, the fence had been knocked down. There was no blood, the horses had simply disappeared. Marion was sad, her only friends were gone.
