Expectations

It's the expectations that ruin us

My favorite movie came out today
And I say it's my favorite
Yet I have never watched it
But I read the book

And I loved the book
It was relatable and told a story
And I am not a book girlie
So I must love the movie

So maybe I should say
My favorite story
Turned into a movie
And I have no choice but to love it

But what if I don't
What if the characters don't develop
Like they did on the page
And it doesn't make me feel the same

The book made me feel heard.
So I'll skip the movie
I have already read the book
And the book is always better
