Morning Stuff I have to go out to get my newspaper. I’m one of those old people who still has my paper delivered, add, and I read it! I think the newspaper businesses are losing the battle to computers. It’s inevitable, however some of us oldies are not as computer literate as others. Or computer literate at all… I can find news, just not news I want here about my little town in Massachusetts. Yes, I should be interested in what is happening in the world, but I’m old enough to know that though I can hear about it, there’s not much I can do about it… Anyway, the newspaper delivery person likely has a lot of space between his patrons these days. Yet he still has to deliver early. So, the newspaper gets tossed from his car window as he drives by. Every morning, I have go out and find it. In a way, he’s helping me stay active. (See, even old geezers like me can look on the bright side!) Plus, it gives me a reason to get dressed… My front yard has lots of gardens, perennials, all pretty well gone by, by now. I look through the stalks and weeds until I find my newspaper. (I actually call it gardening, but only to people who won’t be seeing that I don’t actually do any ‘gardening.’) This morning, I got a treat. It’s been cold already, but as I walked around, I saw a beautiful bright yellow leaf. So, I picked it up to bring inside, and a dragonfly flew right out from under it! It hovered right in front of my face as if it was angry at me for taking its blanket! Then it flew off. Such a small thing, but you know what? It made my day. |
