From the thunderous boom to the quiet of silence.

Prompt: Write a poem where each line is quieter than the last.
Line Count: 9
Word Count: 51

A storm arrived with thunder's cry,
It shook the stars from velvet sky.
The trees bent low in trembling dance,
Leaves whispered secrets at a glance.

Footsteps slowed on softened ground,
Then stilled, where only mist was found.
A hush fell over breath and bone;
A single sigh, and then,
alone.
