A poem written for an exercise called Imitation: The Poet's Place Cafe

The glorious works we see every day
We wonder of its creator,
Who put the stars and moon
So high in the sky, and why?

Many of us stop and pray
We contemplate, much later
Who put the oceans, who set the sun
So high in the sky, and why?

Yes, the Bible tells us of some of these
Especially how the rainbow became to be
But explain the platypus, or the jellyfish with no brain?
So beautiful in the water, and why?

Any when the baby cries at delivery
And mom and dad are so happy
A new life has been created; all is blessed
Population increases, and why?

It is all enigma to me, a puzzle of life
We are all players, the world is a stage
To take part in its beauty and sometimes its rage
For our Creator's glory, but why?

Inspired by a quote from Psalms 46:8-9
