A children's poem to encourage learning

Why do we walk with our feet on the ground?
And why does an elephant make that big sound?

Why can we see in the light, not the dark?
And why does the grass look so green in the park?

Those are good questions and this is so fun!
But there are more questions, 'cause we've just begun!

Why does a fish live in water and swim?
And why does a bird build a nest on a limb?

Why is ice cold, but fire is hot?
And honey is sweet, but water is not?

Just keep asking questions. You'll find there's lots more,
And you'll never run out of new things to explore!
