I hate romance. It's a pit of abuse. But without it, you are like a bird without a voice. A snake without its' hiss. A bear without its' growl. You don't need it. But without it you are defenseless or so they say. Though many may find this to be a depressing contrast I find it to be perfectly written. I am young, though I won't disclose my age. Yet although older people rant to me about finding "the one" but I prefer to find myself instead. Why worry about romance? Can't you see? This world is a dark dead grave that we are just continuingly digging into. So much that modern dystopian writers use real life advents for their sick and twisted tales that everyone enjoys. Romance can only end badly. We are all pigs. Not everyone is pinkie pie or so happy that they just want to hug everyone. The truth is that we want to become those people. We made those people. The closest we are to having a pinkie pie are children, yet they are about as disgusting as anyone else. Romance is horrible. There are thousands of things I could be writing about today. Yet I chose the one that everyone is educated about. Everyone is forced to be educated about. I remember when I was little, my father would try and push me into relationships. I wouldn't understand it. Why bother? Is there not other things you should educate your children on? Modern romance is rushed, forced into. Sex is supposed to be this enchanting thing. We say it's taking away your innocence. Yet with the modern world - nobody is innocent. Everybody is a tint of gray, nobody is fully white and as pure as the tales say. Everybody has done something wrong and we wake up every day and say, "I am going to be better. Starting tomorrow." Or "I'm going to be like ___!" When in reality it's never going to arrive. Tomorrow doesn't exist. We are living in a distopian. Romance is just a part of it. My writing will not be like this. Infant it will most likely be stories instead of this depressing, despair inducing writing. |
