Shape poem for the 13 Poetic Days of Halloween Contest 2025 |
| Lost and crazy a- drift; getting out of a mire of wretched, messy despair is such tragic work. And alas there is no cure for grief and it will not just up and disappear with the swipe of a magic wand. But there is a wild witch on hand who does offer a balm of sort to the dank well of murky darkness that ne- ver wants to give a reprieve to the deep madness that is a constant rem inder of the constant huge weight of tragedy that doesn't seem to take a rest. But rest maybe it shall, with a way to get some relief from a life that has turned into day after day of misery. The witch creates a grim pumpkin-headed helper so grotesque, ready to do its quest. And a bitter chill does arise, as Pumpkinhead seeks to cut the murderers down to size. It d- oes not seem to reason, as it is a monster on a ghoulish mission. But the man who was the bearer of grief, has an intense change of heart. Pumpkinhead, though does want to do his sinister part. It is a challenge to be sure. For he must be stopped at all costs as he spreads wr ath around. Because fighting evil with evil is the constant quandary where no one can win, as hate is an energy where no real justice can ever be found. So the moral of the story is, when you are tempted by dark revenge. do resist. Stay in the comforting light where wicked summoned creatures do not ever exist. |
