Honeymoon In Hell

Eedie forgot one thing when she made her pact with the Devil.

“Where will I hide it?” The littlest witch clutched the spell book to her breast. Her heart pounded with excitement. ‘Now, I’ll have the most wicked, powerful spells the most evil witches use.”

She wasn’t a star pupil in the coven. Eedie had barely been accepted at all. She had a way of turning all her tricks into treats of laughter. “I’ve only had time to memorize the darkest, dirtiest spell of them all.”

Eedie meant to use it on the supreme high priestess, dethrone her, and put herself in her place. Halloween, with a full blood red moon was the perfect time. “Fac Diabolum captīvum meum.” Her words summoning the devil rose in the midnight air.

A flash of lightning, roar of thunder, and that demon appeared. “Who dares wrench me out of my kingdom?”

“Tu es mihi”. Eedie crooned, announcing the Devil was now wed to her. They would act as one. “All your power is mine.”

“Be it as you will,” Lightning struck again. The ground split open. Sulphuric fumes licked, burning the air.

“I can’t breathe.” Eedie had not read the cautions for the spell listed beneath the chant. She gave a final cry as her skin began melting from her bones.

The Devil’s laughter felt like sharp teeth ripping her apart. “I do get my honeymoon in Hell first. Let me remind you. You made no hint of a limit on how long that idyll might last.”

Eddie's lost soul shuddered as the Devil clasped her to him, “Let me feast on you, my sweet. The joy will be all mine.”

As Eddie gave herself to him, her anguished cry became the loudest Hell had heard in ages.
