A poem about the lengths some will go to look/stay beautiful

TV or magazines
Or even online
We see beautiful people
And feel insecure

With their toned waists
Tan skin which accentuates their muscles
With their shining faces
And flawless skin

However, if people were to know
The pain behind this beauty
How we view ourselves
Would evolve

Many we see have starved themselves
And subjected their bodies to surgery
Just to keep their jobs
Even when it was unnecessary

Knowing what they suffer
Make me feel sorry for them
And what our society
Thinks is beautiful
