Daily Flash Fiction

It Works
Sitting on a rock at the park. I have an issue with sitting on benches when some stranger is already there, but I am old enough now that I also need a sit down a couple times during my walk. The day was lovely, however because of that, every bench had someone already on it. My first rock was occupied by two girls. They looked like they were watching for someone. I was a young once, I get it. So, I walked further on to find another first rock. It had been a while since I even looked at the rocks much, let alone tried to find one to sit on. I knew I could make it to my usual second rock, but my legs were already tired.
As I turned the first big corner, I saw a usable rock! It was up a hill a bit, but I really wanted to sit, so up I climbed. As I got there, finding it very sittable, I noticed a bottle. Probably someone hiding it so they didn’t have to go find a trash can. Well, I had the time, so I picked it up to put in my bag. You’re Welcome, Park!
As I pulled it off the ground, it was a bit stuck. So, I used my “exercise every day muscles’ to pop it out of the dirt! Quite proud of myself that I still could! And I started to put it in my bag to take it to a trash can… but it was actually covered with dirt. Reluctantly, I started brushing the dirt off so I could put it in my bag. Well, I brushed off a gold coin stuck to the bottle!
That coin has been my good luck coin ever since. And it works!
