beneath a crystal sky

Gazing at winter's moon
through frosted glass.
Icy wind whistling
through the eaves
whipping the branches.
Candles flickering,
darkness receding.
One lone leaf
perched on a limb
braving the harsh gale
beneath a crystal sky.
