Longings

Things I dream of one day being able to do with my one true love.

I long to watch the stars with you
Making wishes, just us two
Wrapped up in your warm embrace
As we gaze out into space

I long to stroll along the sand
Just us walking hand-in-hand
No sounds save our beating hearts
Moonlight as our only chart

I long to slow dance in your arms
To feel protected, safe from harm
To lay my head upon your chest
And know that I am truly blessed

I long to curl up by a fire
And tell you all my heart desires
Sharing all our hopes and prayers
Casting out our foolish cares

I long to spend my life with you
To give my heart and say “I do”
Forever being by your side
Your true and loving, faithful bride

I long to wake up from this dream
And find God has granted it to be
Until the day this may come true
I will long to be with you
