My Shadow

Scanning the field ~
We call life.
I’m thankful He’s there ~
To end my strife.

He is my shadow,
Though I never see
I know He’s there ~
Watching over me.

He is the gift ~
This is His season!
I am His child.
He is the reason!

Fields have eyes ~
And woods have ears.
But at the cross ~
Jesus shed tears.

Remember him ~
If you will.
Know He’s there ~
And never still!

It’s not about lights ~
Or decorations.
It’s about love,
And humiliation.

He went through it all,
For you and me.
I hope you rest ~
Take a moment to see.

Put down the bags,
You brought from the mall.
Just take a moment ~
Know he died for us all.
