The contrasts of winter, nature and Christmas. My acrostic poem for a contest.
Weaving ice particles into faceted crystal lances,
Icicle pointers, drip in the sunlight from the eaves.
Near perfect crispness of snow, drifts and prances.
The uniquely shaped snow-flake that falls, deceives
Everyone into a softness, entices the hidden child;
Reaches into memories, brings to mind each sensation.

Winter sports; allow behaviour to be child-like, wild.
Opposites compete, snowmen and the nativity's creation.
Network of magic in the children’s sparkling eyes
Dreaming of gifts that at Christmas they hope to receive.
Each Christian celebrates Christ’s birth, wondrous prize,
Renews their faith, in a Holy Christmas they do believe.
Let's remember those who don’t; share with them love
And hospitality, wish peace and goodwill to all men,
Not forget those who despair; put their needs above,
Drive out hate, and to a winter wonderland say Amen.
