Asleep In Love

A simple poem for an unattainable love.

A sweet slumber binds me to you,
as my inner depths release
into this dreamworld reality.

Coy kisses I place at your cheek,
with lips that linger upon
the softness and heat of your skin.

A torrent touch fills my body,
prodding my soul to yearn for more
from your cautiously moving fingertips.

The dreaded distance ceases here;
as only closeness can exist
in our celestial realm of sleep.

Unfolded and open is my heart,
in this place where you find me
each night when the darkness brings my light...
