Haunting Dream

Along the street I have always walked
Into the building I knew so well
Down the hall and though it all
As though possessed by some kind of spell

No one I knew as of yet
The eerie silence of the scene
And all these people I've never met
To the last minutes of life they cling

No one spoke a single word
As though it wasn't so
But greed and grudge and ancient feud
Had spawned this gruesome show

They'd start to cough
And then to sweat
We all knew what happened next
And when they knew they'd start to cry
They knew that they were going to die
