Welcome to the Rising Star Tour Bus!

History:
The Rising Stars was founded in 2006 by GabriellaR45 who remained the leader until February 2019, when she passed the baton to me. The original purpose of the Rising Stars was to provide the diverse WdC community of talented writers with black suitcases the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded.

In 2006 there weren’t many opportunities for members with black suitcases to get involved in programs and activities. It was thanks to "The WDC Angel Army"  and "SIMPLY POSITIVE GROUP"  so that new members were made to feel welcome and encouraged. Then Rising Stars stepped up to ensure that writers with black suitcases would be acknowledged for many months and years to come. Writers selected to go to the program were dubbed “Rising Stars”. They found the experience encouraging and had many opportunities to engage with and be rewarded by members with yellow or blue suitcases through a mentor and sponsorship program.

In 2017 GabriellaR45 overhauled the Rising Stars Recruitment Program and created an 8-Month Intensive Writing Program which was filled with 1st-rate challenges for the candidates.

Now in 2019, I have modified the program to a 3-month intensive program which will include an array of writing challenges and activities.

Here’s the Scoop!

Eight candidates will be invited to participate, per session, via special invitation.
There will be two (or 3) 3-month sessions per year.
Each session will have weekly challenges, both mandatory and optional.
At the end of the session, successful candidates will become Rising Stars, receive prizes, and be eligible for benefits.
