A flash fiction about mishearing things. Featuring the original Lion King.
When I was a kid, the 1990s Lion King had been in theaters. I watched it at least three times in theaters; many more on video tape.

I loved that movie but must admit that I couldn't underdtand what Elton John was singing in "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". There was this one lyric that sang "it's enough to make kings and vagabonds believe the very best."

What my little brain heard was "It's enough to make kings and a bag of bombs believe the very best."

I was so confused. What did a bag of bombs have to do with Nala and Simba being in love? How could an inanimate object think?

So after the second time hearing this line I just randomly decided that they must have meant one of those cartoon bombs like in Super Mario. And from then on till I was about twenty and learned the real lyrics to that song, I imagined a little wind up bomb with eyes and a little heart emoticon over its fuse.
