Mya is heartbroken by her breakup and her best friend gives her words of encouragement.
“Best friend, what’s wrong?” Fran sits next to me on the bench. I'm at the park. I don't know why I go here when I get upset. I guess its nature comforts me.

I look up at my friend. “Mike broke up with me,” I sniffled.

Fran frowned. “Oh, girl. Don’t worry. He wasn’t worth it. You’ll find someone better. Just know that no matter what you’re going through, better days are coming.”

“How can you be so sure?”

“I’ve dealt with some horrible things myself, but things have gotten better. Trust me. It’ll get better for you.”

"Just because it worked well for you, doesn't mean it can for me."

Fran rubbed my shoulder. "Just look to God. He will always make a way for you. He will give you that man you always desired. Miles wasn't for you. Trust me girl. God's got someone better!"

My spirits slightly lifted, but I was still a little bit skeptical. “I hope you’re right.”

Fran wasright. Things did get better. Just a week later, I finally found a man that loved me for me. His name is Curtis and we're going on our first date together.

Better days are coming!
