Vapid Sanctuary: Limited Visions!

Push & pull from pleading legislators who seek financing for their chosen agendas - a poem

Leaning on the fence, politicians provoke
By ne’er deterring the lions
Of anti-constructive and temporal wit,
Deluding their non-troubled hearts and minds;
Focused on their obligations to the stalwart,
Warring sightseers who line American streets
And places of authored and beckoning legality.
Players on the left opting to assail the courts
To swing a Biden sledgehammer
At the Trump legal actions;
Comforting communities besieged
By legislative goons and hypocritical,
Viscous, hyperbolic creations
Of popular, progressive totality…
Swearing an oath to anti-semitic ways;
Permitting parents to be under-appreciated
And unsupported in caring for their children -
And cramping up the legitimate financing
For pivotal and optional programs and jobs
To decimate the nation’s funds
To further raise immigrants being abused
In countless ways while surging drug use
Confounds the families
Of those noble heads of the table
And those expeditious, competent moms,
Matriarchs who fight for the wise
And considerate norms
Of long past, storybook generations -
Many inspired, healthy, healing men and women
Taking a page from Kirk’s, Melania’s,
And Bernie’s valued tropes,
Preaching eternally substantial
And worthwhile, middle-of-the-road ideals;
For confident, industrious, and God-fearing youth,
Displaced and anxious,
Captive and victimized children,
And the most nauseating, off-course,
Weaseling-out bickerers of mindful,
Sensible, congratulatory facts
And surveyors of freedom,
In the vapid denial
Of democracy’s intellect…
