My Day of Fools

A short story about how April Fool's Day should be celebrated

While walking down the street, I noticed some strange sights. A dog pulling a woman on a leash, a hot dog vendor selling his condiments, and a businessman wearing his pajamas instead of a suit.

I stopped the man and asked him, "What's going on, here?"

He leaned backward and told me cheerfully, "Why, it's April Fool’s Day, you idiot."

As he walked away, I looked around, a bit confused, because I had never seen April Fool’s Day like this before. But looking around at the smiling faces, I could not help but think, "This is how it should be."
