A woman has a strange encounter

I loved my "seventies" kitchen; The orange and yellow striped curtains, the padded green chairs, the mosaic picture. I had taken the decor when my parents had moved. The kettle boiling belonged to my dear aunt Lucy. She truly was my favorite, (don't tell the others). As the kettle boiled, I lifted it carefully from the stove and poured the water over the bags in the teapot. The hot beverage was the perfect accompaniment on this cold winter day, to the book that I was engrossed.

In fact, so engrossed, that the cat was able to enter through the dog flap in the back door undetected. It was only when the umbrella, was knocked over, that I looked up with a start! Before I knew it the feline had jumped up onto the table and like magic had changed into a man.

"Well hello there. I'm lloyd," he said with a very British accent.
"Helllooo," I replied slowly with a puzzled look on my face.
"Do you want to know how it ends?" he continued. "I do love a good spoiler!"
'How what ends?" I asked confused.
"The book, silly" he replied.
"Wait what?" I asked picking up the novel. "Oh my gosh, you're that Lloyd!" This day was turning out to be anything but ordinary!
"Hate to break it to your Lloyd, but after I've read a few pages I skip to the end and read the last two paragraphs, so I already know how the story ends." I answered with a victorious smile.
'Ugh, you're such a buzz kill." he said dejectedly.
"You could stay and join me in a cup of tea and biscuits." I offered. "Do you drink tea?" I asked.
"Of course! I'm a Brit!" he replied emphatically and so started a very interesting afternoon.........
