Fog
We are under a big cloud of fog this morning and it's keeping things a little warmer. The last three mornings I have seen frost on the lawns and roofs so thick it looked like snow. One of my favorite poems is Robert Frost's about the fog. Fog is somehow comforting, protecting to me.

I went to our writers' group end-of-year party yesterday evening, very nice, a potluck dinner. Potluck dinners are always better than catered affairs (which we had last year). I had no trouble finding unique and tasty veggie dishes...scalloped potatoes, new potatoes and peas in a cream sauce, sweet potato souffle, carrot raisin salad...and oh, the desserts, yum. There was a variety of writers at my table, a fantasy-sci/fi who is also an artist, a ballroom dancer who is writing about the Blackfoot and dogs in Montana, and two other memoir authors. We had lots to talk about, writers love to talk, most writers anyway. And our talent/entertainment came from within, three musicians, a very nice evening. My only stressful part was driving after dark...not caring for that very much anymore.

until next time...c
