Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Like 6:20-23
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

How do these differ from the beatitudes in Matthew 5? What can we take from these verses for ourselves?

Answer:
These verses do not list all of the beatitudes that are listed in Matthew chapter 5, and they are worded a little differently. These verses speak more specifically about ways you can be persecuted. Matthew 5 mentions it too, but I feel these verse have a little more detail to add with Matthew 5. We can take from this that life is hard, but rejoice in the Lord always. We win in the end. 😃

Scripture writing - 1 Peter 4:8-11

Scripture:
8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Observations:
Verse 8- Above all, have intense love among yourselves. Love is full of forgiveness.
Verse 9- Be hospitable without hold grudges or expecting anything in return.
Verse 10- Our spiritual gifts are meant to be shared with others.
Verse 11- Do everything to the glory of God.

Application:
Love is full of forgiveness so love each other intensely. Show hospitality without grudges or expecting anything in return. Share your spiritual gifts with others and do everything to God's glory.

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father,
Teach me to love others intensely. Help me not to hold grudges or unnecessary expectations towards others. Let me be wise in sharing my gifts with others. Let everything I do glorify you.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

Hi everybody

I just reported back to the bridge today after a short break for sickness and school. I found that Princess Megan Rose (2728) had the bridge in top condition and I thank her for handling things for me.

Today on my way back, I found a star I had forgotten about. Choconut (1537) has been a fixture in the WDC galaxy for sometime. In

A poem about depression. That simple.
#2241640 by Choconut Author IconMail Icon

she talks about wondering if she'll ever recover. Have you ever been in a place where you wondered if there was any hope? What did you do?

Depression is depressing. 😢 Yes, I have been there. I came very close to throwing myself into a lake to drown myself. It was literally a vision of Jesus and and ex-boyfriend that prevented me from doing it. I don't like to remember this. It was a very dark place that I never want to visit again. I had felt like all hope was completely gone and nothing was ever going to change or get better. It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem when you commit suicide. This feeling is not a place anyone wants to be. If you feel yourself going there please make others aware of it even if you have to scream to the top of your lungs to anyone who will hear. It is preventable, and there is someone out there somewhere who cares even about a complete stranger.

There's some interesting background about April 1st in history. Discuss what you've learned. Share with us an interesting April 1st memory.

I did not realize April 1st used to be the new year a long time ago. This was interesting and informative to read today.

My mom would always tell me how my grandfather, her dad was a prankster. She would tell me how he pulled an April Fool's prank on another prankster. So he knew someone who would go around moving people's outhouses so they would fall into the hole. He got a brilliant idea to prank the prankster. He knew the prankster would be coming to move his outhouse. So he moved the outhouse first so the prank backfired. Needless to say, he enjoyed taunting the prankster before helping him out of the hole. The prankster never pulled that prank on my grandpa again. Of course, this wasn't just any hole. It was full of human wastes because back in the day, they didn't have indoor plumbing.
