Clearance Sale

The brown delivery truck rumbled down the street. Two more boxes left on the front porch. Five deliveries so far today.

It started when I tried to return the microwave I bought from Mastodon, the giant online retailer. The guy on the live chat couldn’t have been nicer. But instead of a return label, I received another microwave. I tried again to explain the situation to customer service. Not only did another microwave arrive, they refunded my money. Every day. For six months. Even deleting my account didn’t help.

Today, I put the “For Sale” sign up on the house.
