No taxis in this game,
don’t waste your time,
unless you are famous
with money for ghosts,
or maybe field marshall
with memoirs unwritten,
or political hack
with excuses to make.

There’s a reason, you know,
a writer’s life is called
auto-biography.
If you don’t have a car,
then you just have to walk,
you can’t wait in the street
for a car labelled WRITER.
