| Mother, may I go out and play? the sun is shining bright today. The lilacs have burst forth on the trees, “it’s May, it’s May” buzz the busy bees. Leaves, not buds, cover every bough, April’s tomfoolery is over now. Nary a cloud mars a clear blue sky, only the fledgings learning to fly. It’s time for me to leave the nest, I want to soar like all the rest. The sun is shining bright today, oh Mother, may I go out and play?
