Dissonance

Dissonance

Driven to despair
I seek solace in the humdrum
a truck at an open door
the promise of a quick getaway

If only the wall weren’t orange
and the door red
so angular the truck
and powder blue

Straight lines and curves
designs of yesterday
shouting in the silence
and the boom of distant thunder.
