December 21, 2002

The day's been generally good. Finals are over (on which I did a decent job hopefully), and 17 straight days of freedom lay before me! Longest Christmas break I've had in years!
Lost old friends return with new faces. If you don't know who I'm talking about, you haven't read any other entry. :P
I went to a birthday celebration with a friend from youth group, her best friend, and my youth pastor. My mom decided to come along with my bro and Breckin, the roomate's daughter.
Tried to see The Two Towers. It was sold out when I got my ticket. Everyone else got theirs. So they cancelled for me, and we saw the only movie left that would get us home at a decent time: Two Week Notice. Not exactly my thing at times, but it was a pretty funny movie, even for a chick flick.
Then we got started for home.
My bro and I got into a heated argument. Mostly about problems in the youth group. Should I get into it here, I would type for hours. It's almost 1:00 am, so I think I'll just say that my mom overheard and moderated the debate. She supported solving the problem he has been having along with friends. This youth group issue, which has plagued the leadership for about a year now, may be close to resolve. He cut the thing short, saying he was tired. But I think he went to bed with some sort of conviction. If he didn't, I failed to get him to see.
If he has seen something new, or is maybe allowing himself to admit some things to God, it just might ripple out to those friends. This may be the first step to solving it. I hope so. It'd be great to see our top priority in issues to disappear after this long year.
Whatever happens, life is good. God has it all under control. Thank God. Literally. I certainly couldn't handle all of this without Him.
With recommended listening, I will close this entry. Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth. That's some old-skoo metal right there. Good night, and merry CHRISTmas!
