I use to wander around
Surrounded in clouds of darkness;
My heart heavy with emptiness
Not sure which way to turn.

Every time I thought I'd found
An open door to complete the journey,
It closed before I reached it
Leaving me enveloped in the darkness.

I searched endlessly for a light
For an opening to the tunnel
For a way to escape
The bitter cold & darkness.

Then, just when I thought
It was time to give up
You entered my life & shone the light
I so desperately needed to see.

The doors began to open
The darkness began to fade
I was surrounded by warmth &
Surrounded by your love!
