A Sermonal moment

My occasion that involved rejection helped me to see things through the lens of the scripture I will preach on Sunday. The message is being on the outside looking in. Part of the tale sees Jesus going into places that were promised to Israel after they made their way into Canaan after being delivered from oppression in Egypt. Tyre and Sidon were places that could not be conquered. Later on they would fight with an oppressor against Israel. They were not a people that were highly esteemed. The woman comes to Jesus from this place and through the healing of her daughter a seed is planted in Gentile territory that will grow and flourish. The Jews conquered with force and Jesus conquered with love. I look forward to internalizing this quest. Home is where the heart is.
