Kentucky's Kiss of Kindness
166 Words
Kentucky’s kiss of kindness
By Lisa Noe
The leaves, the trees, the bumble bees
Where nature dances to the beat of a breeze
Squirrels, raccoons, and the bunny which hops
Meet in the thick brush where the land stops
Kentucky is the name of the place
That is where they have their race
Running, jumping, pulling ears
Bunny says let’s switch the gears
Oh my Kentucky you’ll come to love it
Where in God’s Nature first was lit
They know not pride their sins are few
Each house was built by God’s love too
The sky reaches across the land
Blessing every grain of sand
Love is carried on wings of every fowl
This state of Kentucky, God did endow
From the beauty of the rolling hills
And the magic of the lakes blue gills
The sky is the palest blue
While it shares a rosy hue
Kentucky, what a beautiful place
You’ll meet everyone from every race
Kentucky, see you in natures sweetest sight
The sounds of nature’s beauty fills the night.
