My Winter Feathered Friends ![]() By Lisa Noe ![]() I sit inside my warm home, all the while watching the birds, in the frigid outdoors, feeding at my birdfeeder. I see every breed you could imagine just sitting and eating. They fly in from every place even from the large Cedar. One of my favorites is the Red headed Woodpecker. I love to hear the rat tat tat of their beak upon the wood. My cats also notice and try their might to be killers. I try to protect them by keeping cats indoors, I’ve tried all I could. The white snow gently falls to the earth, that’s when I love the most. The red bird contrasts the winter white like the keys upon a piano. I watch the birds as I’m feeding them they sit upon a fence post. They say he eats like a bird meaning little, but the bird eats like a hippo When the chilly snow leaves and the springtime does arrive, I see more birds come north and my feeder becomes more packed. I see doves, cardinals, and blue Jays also, the winter they did survive. Like a leaf tumbling to the ground, the birds are graceful as a ballet act. The cone upon the head represents the male as does the color of the body. Most people get perturbed because the birds use their vehicles to potty. .
