I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.
I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.
I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

Prompt:What books have you read that you find yourself thinking about years later? Write about this in your Blog entry today.
Hi.
I read the Bible both Old and New Testaments many days a week. So, it is easy for my mind to recall passages daily.
I'm presently reading "The Universal One," by Walter Russel. I will probably be remembering it for a long time.
I often remember parts of the entire series of "The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe." I believe it is an allegory of life on planet earth. Perhaps put on the earth to acquaint children of the hazards they would meet in everyday life. Reading the first book in the series or watching the movies made about it, should never be enough.
I think of "Lessons in Chemistry" by Bonnie Garmus now and then. Or "No visible Bruises" by Louise Snyder once in a while.
I have favorite authors--fiction -- Laurie King, writes about Sherlock Holmes and Mary Russel, All the Hobbit series, and I like Science Fiction about space travel.
Over the years I've read too many to name them all and anyone of them may slip into my thoughts for no imaginable reason. The Black Stallion, The Red Stallion, Little Women, Robert Frost Poems, Hiedi, Lots of others. I put them all there when I was reading, so I guess my mind will mull over them when it is not so busy with other thoughts.
Bye

Write about your favorite book, story, or poem.
I don't really have a favorite book, or story. There are too many really wonderful ones. I've always liked Robert Frost's "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" I don't think I can recall enough poetry to pick a for sure favorite. I just enjoy reading because in a book you can view History, motives, and mindsets of numerous people in numerous nations' doing all the things people can think to do. My favorites are often the one I read yesterday.

Prompt: "Determination gives you the resolve to keep going in spite of the roadblocks that lay before you.: Denis Waitley
Write about this in your Blog entry today.
Yesterday I took the dogs for a walk. We walked on green wet yard ground. Today what looks like foggy weather is actually tiny drops of snow which now litter the ground. Once again all is a white wonder land.
Determination Is active by endurance. Resolve is active by the mental insistence it takes to accomplish the goal. Both require a kind of energy placed upon the blocks in your way. Roadblocks will fall before the energy placed upon them as you achieve each step in your path. Wisdom works wonders, when thrown solidly against roadblocks.

Write about holiday shopping.
Hi out there. A windy cold day.
Holiday shopping means fresh fruit or Etsy marketplace for one-of-a-kind gifts. Or search for the new gadget you did not know you would get. Even toys for adults is not a bad idea if it brings some fun into the celebration. Like the sparkling balls that float around in the air.
Last year there was a ball under the tree for the dogs that has been fun all year. It is indestructible and shouts out fumy noises when it rolls around on the floor. We play for points. Drifter always wins.
It's Christmas. Lively, if you get something you did not know you needed.
Happy Shopping.

On this day in 1992, the world's first text message was sent by a test engineer for Sema Group. 32 years later, how dependent are you on text messaging?
Happy Snow Day to Everyone
I like text messaging, especially the quick ones. Like Yes or we are on our way. Interesting that you ask this since family members constantly test me about anything I regular do. For a while, I was on a service that I could not dial phone calls or do anything but text message. I changed service and bought a new phone to replace the one I had for ten years. Now can do it all; take great pictures, make phone calls, send pictures, or text message. Welcome to the technical age of personal phones.
Is this what December is going to be like? If so, a white Christmas is on its way.

Prompt:
"If you are buying a larger turkey than usual, make sure it will fit in the oven."
Mary Berry
What do you think is the lesson in this quote? Is Mary Berry talking about baking a turkey, only?
Maybe just means if you buy something make sure it fits where you are planning to put it. One time bought a pony. Had to cut the roof off the back of the station wagon to haul it home. Use to bring Dairy goats home from the sale barn in the back seat of the car.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Write about your goals for December.
HI out there in cyber land.
When I first read this, I thought, I don't have any goals for December. Then I decided I do have a goal. I'm going to play Christmas carols whenever Keith is not here. I like them only around Christmas time. Most of my goals center around one day at a time logic. I have not forgotten WDC December either just busy getting through Thanksgiving for now. Maybe I can write in December. I've started a list of things to write about. We will see. I'm not sure I can follow through.
I pulled the Decorations out of the closet this morning. That's not a small feat to accomplish.
Onward to Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays.

“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.”
Willie Nelson
In what ways can we count our blessings and feel thankful?
I'm counting Willie Nelson's blessings too, because he owns a large acreage where he rehomes horses.
I'm truthfully thankful every morning when I wake up to another day. Someday I will meet the end of my body's life on the earth. Until that day I will keep on keepen on.
We can count blessings by aiding someone else to gain information they never knew before. There are other ways. Find one that suits you.
Happy Thanksgiving.
