It's probably a good refresher to take the course. Heck, I'd do it myself to save a couple of bucks on Insurance. Insurance is crazy in California. A lot of companies have left because our insurance laws are wild. Glad you have that option.

Sounds like a pretty tasty dinner, although I have no idea how quinoa would impact the flavor. I, too, probably spend more time than is good for me at my computer - although, to be fair, just because my status is "Online" doesn't mean I'm actually in front of the screen - I get a bit of exercise chasing after my grandson. Do what you can to feel better, and to feel better about how you feel.

I had no idea fruits and veggies were so dirty. Yuck. I'm pretty good about washing my veggies & fruits too, but vinegar seems a bit extreme. I'd have to research it for myself to see what the benefits were and if the effort was worth it. Thanks for sharing. Food for thought!

Heck, I think all the above are great places to find hope. I can honestly say I've hope in Jesus, his words, his story. I can definitely find hope in my children. Nature, for me is more inspiring, but watching the Big Bear Eaglets and animals/birds in nature leaves me with good feelings and hopeful feelings.

People, when they do the right thing, always leave me with hope, I suppose because it's not easy to do the right thing. Someone lost their wallet in the grocery store parking. Did you turn it in and leave the money in there when you did?

For me, Good things, Good deeds, Small gestures of kindness leave hope. Positive actions leave hope. Reading a romance and getting that happy ending leave me hopeful.

I agree - hope is all around us if we open our eyes.

I have 42 steps. Far too many if I have heart issues but my neighbor gets Meals-on-Wheels and I believe home-delivery of groceries. So... I could too if need be. I've thought about it.

I could do 7 steps one at a time. Maybe. I'm very careful bending over. I tend to sit when putting pants or socks on.

Yep. The recuperation period is essential. The do's like walking, the don'ts like no driving. You seem prepared. I have 42 steps so I'd be bound to pacing this floor.

I tend to write when I'm bored and not traveling. I could catch up on that (which is what I've been doing this past week).

You don't mention the procedure but we have a wonderful place in town that puts in stents. I may need to have that done.

My neighbor, Jay, has had a pacemaker for years. He's young and has no choice so off to Seattle (11 hour drive) to get a new battery or something. He also got new teeth (full mouth replacement) and that has improved his quality of life. He's lived with the prospect of a short life for many years. He's a leather-worker. I wrote this for him:

My sister was playing two doors down and a hammock came down on her head and put a hole in it. Blood gushing everywhere. Our next door neighbor was fortunately visiting my mother (my mother never let anyone in!) and they took her to the doctor who lived at the corner of the main road and the street. He shaved off some hair and took care of it.

Nice post. I love geraniums but kill them as I water too much, I believe. They need a dryer pot and I also watch that my husband does water them when they look a little dryer than other plants. I am also guilty leaving the removals in the pot. So, learn something here. With yellow jackets, if they remain, go back to YOu Tube as they have several videos regarding that pest.

Poison oak

I was tired of looking at it and passing by. Today, I put on the gloves and pulled up poison oak all around my peonies and azaleas. The gloves are going in the laundry and I washed my hands up to my elbows. I believe it was even choking out one of the azalea bushes. I thought it was my brother who over-trimmed it in a crowded flower bed. But he cut others and they look fine. Only this one with the invading species choking it out looks bedraggled.

I'm starting my annual war with ants, several species, who try to invade my space regularly. Bees and mosquitoes will descend on my later.

Meanwhile, Creeping Charlie is trying to take over flowerbeds and the lawn. There is a little weed with an ivy shape leaf with a pretty violet flower in the spring, However, it is ugly the rest of the year and grows prolifically where you don't want them. They attach themselves to iris bulbs or any root to choke them out. They have little bulbs or tubers like a potato, so you can't pull them up. They have to be dug up very carefully. When you finally finish one little spot in the yard or a flowerbed and move to something else, they come back just to spite you.

Did I mention dandelions? If only I could get kids to pick the yellow flowers to make dandelion wine. They don't drink wine, and I know from experience it is hard work and requires a lot of expensive sugar. I had a friend who once had her students picking dandelions without telling them why. A mother came early and wanted to know. So she lied that it was for a recipe for dandelion cake. Wouldn't you know it? The mother wanted the recipe. So my friend studied her cookbooks and made up a recipe using dandelion petals.

If you see me working in the yard, I am not making wine. My cardiologist won't let me.
