| Relics Spare a thought for those who become relics, mere links and reminders of former times and somehow surviving beyond all reason in a world long passed to others’ care. There is pain in the eyes that have seen so much, watched the sun set on their familiar toys, lived lives of passion and meaning and hope, but now spend the day in blind waiting. The terrible truth now beyond misunderstanding that things indeed are not what they used to be, reduced to the role only of reference books consulted on occasion for oddities of the past.
