Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

It was calculation, I know,
and it should have ended just so
but somewhere in those numbers
perhaps while we were at slumber
we made a minor booboo
just like the errant cuckoo
and our lack of true foresight
leaves us, alas, half right.
